Rachel de Cordova elected to the Board of Directors of the Houston East End Chamber of CommercePDF
Houston lawyer Rachel de Cordova was elected to the Board of Directors of the Houston East End Chamber of Commerce at their Annual Awards Luncheon on September 30, 2009. Ms. de Cordova will serve a three-year term as one of the Chambers directors.
The Houston East End Chamber of Commerce is the tenth largest chamber in a ten county region including the City of Houston. The Chamber serves the business community of the East End which includes a large geographic area encompassing the area east of downtown all the way to the Port of Houston, and Hobby Airport. Although the Chamber is primarily devoted to supporting East End businesses, it also supports the community at large with projects aimed at improving education, infrastructure, and the image of the East End.
Ms. de Cordova is an Associate Attorney with the law firm of Royston, Rayzor, Vickery & Williams, L.L.P., where she practices civil litigation and appellate law with an emphasis in complex commercial disputes, maritime and admiralty law, personal injury, and toxic torts. She is a graduate of New York University where she was a Trustee Scholar and is also an honors graduate of the University of Texas School of Law where she was a Senior Mock Trial Champion in 2005.
Ms. de Cordova also chairs the Infrastructure Committee and Rail Subcommittee for the East End Chamber. She received the Chairpersons award on behalf of the Rail Subcommittee in Fall 2009.
