Recently on October 13, 2016, partner, Javier González successfully tried a two week case to jury verdict, in the defense of a personal injury case involving legal blindness in both eyes damages in Cameron County, Texas in Cause No. 2013-DCL-3724-A styled Leonel T. Lamas vs. Gallegos Electric, Inc., defending Gallegos Electric. Plaintiff, a licensed apprentice electrician was changing out a breaker at the Bonaventure Apartments, an apartment complex in Brownsville, Texas on May 16, 2011, when an explosion occurred, leading to the blindness in both eyes and other damages claimed by the plaintiff. Gallegos Electric had serviced an electrical meter approximately six days before the accident. The jury verdict was unanimous and the jury found plaintiff to be 80% responsible; and his employer 20%. Gallegos Electric, a local electric company in business for over 25 years, was exonerated.
