Mr. Herrero is an associate in the admiralty and maritime and civil litigation sections. He focuses his practice in the area of employment litigation, personal injury litigation, insurance coverage disputes, and general civil litigation in both state and federal jurisdictions.
In addition, Mr. Herrero is in his second term as State Representative. He currently serves on the Human Services and Defense Affairs and State-Federal Relations Committees. These committee assignments have allowed him to be instrumental in issues that are central in the daily lives of District 34 residents.
As a member of the Human Services Committee, Mr. Herrero was named as Chairman of the Integrated Eligibility and TIERS Subcommittee. The committee was charged with investigating the mishandling of health services during the Health and Human Services Commission's (HHSC) transition of enrollment duties to a private company, as well as, recommending an appropriate course of action that ensures reliable services for qualified recipients in the future. He was also very active in restoring accessibility to the Children's Health Insurance Program, which has allowed for thousands of eligible children to obtain health insurance.
