Mr. Uhles' practice encompasses a wide variety of trial/litigation, insurance coverage, client counseling and appeals. Representative clients include a major shipyard, multi-national energy companies, product manufacturers, banks, U.S. insurance companies and underwriters at Lloyd's and London companies.
Mr. Uhles' early practice involved admiralty and maritime matters involving personal injury litigation, ship collisions, offshore oilfield accidents, Longshore & Harbor Workers' Compensation claims, commercial disputes, maritime bankruptcy and vessel financing.
Mr. Uhles' practice has grown to encompass significant complex litigation in the areas of product liability primarily transportation, catastrophic injury, toxic torts, environmental litigation, labor and employment matters, construction litigation and insurance coverage. He has successfully tried multi-party cases with multi-million dollar claims in venues throughout South Texas. His trial experience includes product liability, premise defect, construction accidents, employment discrimination, maritime and non-maritime personal injury, insurance coverage, toxic tort, oilfield negligence and commercial cases in state and federal courts.
Mr. Uhles' appellate experience began as a law clerk with the United States Court of Appeals-Fifth Circuit for the Honorable Reynaldo G. Garza, Sr. Subsequently, Mr. Uhles has handled appeals in a variety of state and federal courts as well as appellate bodies within administrative agencies.
Mr. Uhles' practice also encompasses counseling clients in such areas as risk transfer (indemnity and insurance coverage), OSHA, and employment matters.
