Nathaniel “Nate” Navey is a trial lawyer. He began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney with the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office in 2013. After evaluating and prosecuting misdemeanor cases for a period of time, he served within the Office’s Child Abuse Unit for two years. The vast majority of cases he prosecuted involved the sexual abuse of children, including many as lead prosecutor. Then, he handled a wide range of felony cases, eventually moving up to first chair felony prosecutor. The cases he tried included burglary, aggravated robbery, and intoxication manslaughter, with some involving significant media coverage.
Mr. Navey now utilizes his trial experience to assist clients in a wide variety of civil litigation.
Mr. Navey recently completed a term as President of the Cameron County Children’s Advocacy Center’s board of directors, and has served in various roles on its board since 2013. In 2016, for his work advocating for child victims of sexual abuse, he was selected as one of the 30 Under 30 Rising Stars of Brownsville by the Brownsville Economic Development Council.
Mr. Navey is a graduate of Austin College, where he majored in International Economics and Spanish. He then graduated from Oklahoma City University School of Law. In his free time he enjoys playing sports, reading, and traveling.
