Nathan S. Janis is a native of Brownsville, Texas. He attended Boston University, from which he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He then returned to Texas to attend St. Mary’s University School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate. As a law student, Nathan was a member of the mock trial team and competed in multiple mock trial competitions across the country. His team won 1st Place in the William Daniel Mock Trial tournament in Atlanta Georgia in 2015.
After graduating with his Juris Doctorate, Nathan moved back to his hometown of Brownsville and joined the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office. As a prosecutor Nathan furthered his courtroom experience and negotiation skills. He started his career with misdemeanors and moved to felony court quickly. At the District Attorney’s Office Nathan was able to gain confidence and comfort in the courtroom where he tried 14 jury trials to verdict.
Nathan S. Janis lives in Brownsville, Texas with his wife Eva. Their hobbies include running, reading, and cooking. He sits on the board of Dean Porter Park and represents them at the Mitte Cultural District board meetings.
