Associate Attorney - Houston office

Established in 1892, Royston Rayzor maintains an internationally-recognized maritime, commercial litigation, and insurance defense practice. The Firm currently seeks a Texas-licensed associate attorney with 2-5 years of civil litigation experience for its Houston office. Although the Firm has a diverse civil litigation practice, this position will largely focus on the Firm’s maritime practice area. In addition to active involvement in standard litigation activities (e.g., depositions/discovery, hearings, and motion practice), the position will also involve emergency response to casualty incidents, allowing the associate attorney to gain firsthand experience handling a case from inception to conclusion, including substantial investigation activities and administrative proceedings conducted by governmental authorities. This is an action-packed position that offers valuable early case-handling and client interaction experience that is rarely available at other civil litigation firms.
The Firm’s partners and senior attorneys provide a collegial environment that is heavily invested in fostering the professional growth of the Firm’s associate attorneys. Given the benefits of these collaborative efforts, this is an in-person position.

Summer Associates
Royston Rayzor offers six-week summer associate programs in our Houston, Brownsville, and Corpus Christi offices. The program offers the opportunity for summer associates to work with a variety of our attorneys, with exposure to a wide array of practice areas. We emphasize a hands-on approach that includes attendance at depositions, trials, hearings, and client meetings when appropriate. Summer Associates are given meaningful projects that assist in the litigation of the Firm’s current cases. In addition, many social activities are planned to give attorneys and summer associates the chance to interact in a more relaxed atmosphere.
